MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

The National Social Science Association is the largest interdisciplinary association in the United States. Its members consist of social scientists in two and four year colleges and represent the following disciplines: history, geography, education, economics, psychology, anthropology, sociology, ethnic studies, women’s studies, interdisciplinary studies, political science and other related studies

The purpose of this association is to provide in-service training through its summer seminar, Fall Professional Development Conference, National Technology and Social Science Conference, and publications. The National Social Science Technology Conference is held every spring in Las Vegas, while the summer seminar and fall professional development conferences are held in attractive locations, even on cruise ships.

The NSSA conferences and seminars feature papers, discussions, demonstrations, and workshops that include all the social science disciplines. The national spring conference will be a National Technology and Social Science Conference with technology plus social science sessions. This national conference will feature technology exhibits along with book and film exhibits. There will be a student paper competition for both graduate and undergraduate students.  Summer Seminars will feature general themes, while the Fall Professional Development meeting will feature teaching, research, and technology in the social sciences.

All presentations at all conferences and seminars can be printed in the proceedings journal after the conferences. All presentations can be submitted to our refereed journals-the National Social Science Journal and The National Social Science Technology Journal. All members also receive timely social science information, book and media reviews, conference notes, information on members in our national newsletters. All members can submit articles to our national journals and can become book and media reviewers. Book and media reviews appear in our newsletters and journals.

Our Goal is to give all social science faculty a greater opportunity to participate at our conferences and seminars and to publish.
